Optimization Software TutORial
We held a brand new event called optimization software tutORial on December 5th. Tom, the esteemed webmaster of our student chapter, gave a presentation on different algebraic modeling languages (such as GAMS or Pyomo) and optimization solvers such as Gurobi or IPOPT. He reviewed different modeling considerations and the went through an example problem implemented in Pyomo. It was very informative, especially for some of us who mainly do theoretical research and not had the need to implement a model or algorithm in practice. Thanks Tom for presenting and everyone for attending!
